little house potholder

I whipped up this potholder the other day after seeing this cute tutorial. It was a cute easy sew and I see many more house blocks in my future!

little red dress

I have been eyeing this itty bitty baby dress tutorial from Made By Rae for a LONG time. I finally got the chance to make it this week. What an easy and fun project it was to make! I try very hard to not go to crazy with the pink frilly fabric when giving gifts to moms of girls unless I know they like it. (If I haver have a girl bring on the pouffy pink craziness I say!)

I made her a matching headband using woven 1" elastic and the flower tutorial at I am Momma Hear Me Roar.

I love this sweet little polkadot dress.

All wrapped up and ready to give!

Random.org picked #223, she got in JUST in the nick of time! (even tho I counted the late entry, it's my blog and I'm not going to be nitpicky. I was late picking the winner after all!) patchwork pouch

I made this using the tutorial over at Pink Penguin. It came out really cute and spacious, I love the patchwork (even tho I think the pink may be a little too much.) I needed a little pouch to carry lipgloss, my keys, my phone and some cash. I am so over carrying a giant bag everywhere I go, my kids are finally at an age where I don't need a huge bag anymore.  This little pouch fits perfectly in a bag, so when I'm driving around town I can pull it out of my purse and run quick errands with it.  Next up on my sewing for myself list is the 241 tote from Noodlehead, it's going to be my new summer bag! I have gotten into the habit of sewing myself a new purse at the beginning of every season and it's nice to have a one of a kind bag!

blogger quilt festival

I'm back! I have missed blogging terribly and I can't wait to sit down tonight and respond to emails, catch up on my blog reading and maybe draft a post or 2! hooray!

This week Amy's Creative Side  is hosting the Blogger Quilt Festival. I am so excited about clicking through all the entries and seeing all the amazing quilts!

This is my first quilt ever. I made it for a very dear friend who had her first baby this past November. When I was picking the fabric all I knew was that I wanted to finally make a quilt bigger then a placemat and I didn't want it to be pink. Since it was my first time making a larger quilt I stuck to a very simple pattern, a disappearing nine patch. I even free motion quilted it myself! I am still so proud of this little quilt. I was on Facebook this week and my friend uploaded pictures of her gorgeous little girl playing on this quilt and it made me so happy!

(and of course my brain is numb this morning, I can't for the life of me remember what this line of Moda fabric is called!)

Thank you for stopping by and reading my little corner of the web! I love the crafty blogging world so much!!
Now go check out all the quilts at the Blogger Quilt Festival!

bah humbug

I will be taking this week off from posting.
I just found out that someone hacked into our bank accounts and stole money from us. I need to get things together and figure out how I am going to pay my kids preschool tuition now that someone STOLE that money.
Oh, and to top it off? My 3 year old turned the knobs in my refrigerator and freezer to 0, and somehow I missed it for about 2 days(maybe because I've been lazy and ordering food?)  So I just threw away everything.
I have my cousins wedding this Friday where I am the matron of honor. I still need to finish her programs. She finally gave me all the supplies to finish last night. bah humbug, I need a vacation and a drink.

Have you heard about heartsy? It's a new site kind of like groupon where they give you a deal a day, only on heartsy it's all handmade. I am a sucker for handmade so I thought it was pretty neat! If you sign up you get a $5 credit Sign Up HERE!(and if you click my link and sign  up so do I, wink wink.) I like that I only had to give my email address and no other info right away. I HATE giving out personal info when I am not purchasing something right away.

Heartsy - Daily deals on fabulous handmade items, at least 50% off.

In other news I am pretty busy, my internet/cable connection is finally working 100%. My kids are trying to make sure I end up in the loony bin. I have my cousins bachelorette party this weekend and I forgot to order the cake! I suck. Sometime's I think I have lost brain cells since having kids. My house is officially a disaster zone and all I want to do is sew... but my 2 year old has become OBSESSED with my machine and tries to jam his fingers under the needle while I sew, so now I can only sew after 8pm.
I have been working on a couple of tutorials that I want to share, but my picture taking skill stink and I need to get pictures of the process, hopefully I will be able to sometime next week! (but next week is the week before the wedding, so I may be going crazy) I offered to make the wedding programs so I still have to finish those, and my 2 year old is the ring bearer and I have to hem the pants on his $100 suit (yes, $100 on a cheap tux that he will wear ONE time, I am not going to lie, I was super annoyed when I found out how much it was!) He does look INSANELY adorable in it tho.
Here is a pretty picture, posts without pictures make me sad:

All My Sewing Books
My sewing book collection, since this picture was taking I have about 6 new books, I have an addiction!
