circle skirt baby gift

I am a terrible blogger, I haven't posted in 2 months! Life has been hectic, and I haven't been sewing as much as usual. I did a craft fair a few weeks ago and still have a ton of inventory to add to my shop!

I having been itching for a reason to make MADE's circle skirt for a while now and finally got the chance a few days ago! It was such a quick sew I made 2! And then I made a matching applique onesie to complete the outfit.

The "necklace" is just some tiny yellow rickrack sewn on and an applique patch on top. I added a little S for the special baby girl receiving the gift.

I can't believe it's Memorial day weekend already!
My boys are almost out of school for the summer and we are busy trying to find a pool club to join so we don't spend too much time hanging around the house!

Have a great holiday weekend!

envelope clutch

When I saw that See Kate Sew was hosting an envelope clutch sew along I knew I wanted to participate! I love clutches.

This will be fun to carry around this spring. I found the clutch to be a bit flimsy, I didn't use heavy enough interfacing. To fix it I cut a piece of plastic canvas a bit smaller then the clutch and inserted it through the opening in the lining. Now it's perfect!

I originally wanted a bigger white button but my buttonhole foot didn't have a big enough setting. Luckily I had this cute little button in my stash.

This was an easy, quick and satisfying project! I may have to make another one!

sewing baby boy gifts is fun too

I had a baby shower to go to a couple of months ago for a friends baby boy. Sewing for boys can be just as fun as sewing for girls!

First off I made some applique onesies. These are so simple to make, you can google hundreds of tutorials and patterns for these. I always stitch my appliqués down after ironing them on.

I love making bibs. I used this tutorial for this adorable monster bib. How cute is this?

I also made a nursing cover, I used the tutorial found here, This is a super simple and very quick sew, its basically a rectangle with straps.

These are my 2 favorite baby boy gifts to give! My kids lived in these socks, I loved them so much!
And this airplane spoon is just way too cute.

My 4 year old lent me his thumb so we could make this cute dino card, we are having a lot fun with Ed Emberely's Fingerprint book!

I had also made some burp cloths but I can't seem to find the picture.

It's snowing in New York right now, I'm looking forward to a cozy weekend at home!

girly gifts

I made this dress for my beautiful goddaughter using Made by Rae's free Itty Bitty Dress Pattern.
It's my favorite little girl gift! I've made a bunch of there...here and here (the red one is my favorite!).

These headbands were so simple, glue, fabric, and a pack of crochet headbands. Nothing is cuter then a baby girl with a giant poof on her head!

Happy New Year!

journaling

(left handed!)

My oldest started Kindergarten on Wednesday and my little guy started Pre-K today. I can't believe how quickly time has flown.!

I started journaling this week. I love the idea of having a  place to jot down memories. I follow the prompts from Lil Blue Boo (love her!)

(map of my kindergarten classroom)

I'm going to have fun with this!
